A grass-roots approach to providing small grants to community artists
Artist Application
Planet Altered provides an opportunity through C.A.F.E. for local artists to receive local funding through small grants that can be put directly back into the community through projects done in the area. C.A.F.E. is local community investing in arts and artists providing a direct impact to the local economy.
Our monthly Sunday C.A.F.E. grant event is a grass roots gathering of community where everyone pays to attend a light dinner, listen to a description of the artist's project, and then vote for their favorite. The winner of the grant will receive $10.00 of each ticket sold for that evening's gathering. Your story, your creative goals and your art will be seen and heard by your community.
February, 2012 will be dedicated to schools and education based organizations , both public and private.
Projects can be anything related to the arts, including teacher and student projects. Emerging artists in all areas of art, music, dance, poetry, film, clay and other arts are welcome.
The following information must be completed. Use as much space as needed to answer the following questions. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
• Your name and contact information including address with zip code, phone number and e-mail.
• Tell us a little about yourself and what led you to your current creative goals.
• What are your artistic goals and how will this grant help you further those goals?
• Please describe the specific art project a C.A.F.E. grant would help you accomplish.
• What is important to you about receiving a C.A.F.E. grant?
• Describe a previous project of yours, if you have one, and some ways it both succeeded and failed.
Grant Submissions:
Completed applications must be turned into Planet Altered one (1) month prior to the event. Your application may be delivered in person, mailed, or e-mailed as a PDF or Word doc to: info@planetaltered.com
You will be contacted by a C.A.F.E. team member (a volunteer from the community) as soon as we receive your application. If you are selected, details for your presentation will be arranged.

2011 – 2012 C. A.F.E. Schedule
Second Sundays October through February
October 9, November 13, December 11, January 8, February 12
Event Details:
• Three artists will be chosen for each event. If you are not chosen for the first month your application will be considered for the following month.
• Names are drawn at random for presentation order.
• Artists will have 10 minutes for their presentation and a few minutes for questions.
• All artists leave the venue immediately after their presentations.
• The winner will be notified at the close of the evening's event.
• Each artist may purchase two tickets for guests. They must be paid for no later than one week prior to the event. Guests (not more than two per artist) without tickets may not vote or participate in the dinner but may wait in the green room with the artist.
